Solar fracture

Solar Fracture is an Acrylic painting 48 inch X 48 inch on a cotton canvas. This painting is a reminder of how quickly our lives can become so over whelmed with pressures of the day that we sometimes crack under the weight. The way the petals or flames flick outward creates a sense of force, as if the painting is spinning while you look at it.

Story behind the painting: At the time I was sketching this out I was dealing with some past memories that I need to work though. I think we all might fall into this one way or the other, where we look back as a kid and say to our selves “I was a dumb kid for thinking that way”. I am an 80’s kid and yes I was what you would call a latch key kid. I grew up putting immense pressure on myself to be a good student, child, etc. Now that I am grown I still put that same pressure on myself to preform. The painting shows how over time the pressure we put on ourselves to shine and be the best we be can cause us to crack at the core. No matter how we shine there always seems to be a cost that has to be paid.
