RELEASE

Release is an Acrylic painting 60 inch X 60 inch on a cotton canvas. There comes a moment when containment of your emotion is no longer possible; when the weight of held breath, quiet frustration and stress gives way. Release is that moment of emotional release. The composition centers on a dense, fractured core of a ice like structures representing the internal pressures we build up over time.

Story behind the painting: It is both violent and cathartic showing the exact instant you can no longer hold the emotion in. As I was coming up with this design I had allot going on and was reaching my breaking point. This sketch sat in my sketch book for some time and I finally wanted to bring this to life. Work, life, family, financials “Ugh” most of us have all been there. We bottle up everything and when someone asks how are you the response is “Fine”. The painting is the release of everything before you even realize its coming out. The webbed bands are things you have in control and hold in place. The core of all your things that build in your heart over time are like a ball of ice. Building bigger and bigger as you hold it all in and hold it together. There is always a point when it breaks.
