First and Last Breath

First and Last Breath is an Acrylic painting 48 inch X 60 inch on a cotton canvas. Take a moment and let the scale of this piece really settle. What you're looking at here is the representation of the journey we all must take at some point in our lives.

Story behind the painting: In the painting I wanted to confront the fear of the unknown and find beauty in it. As we shed our mortal bodies we take our last breath, step across the veil and take our first breath in a new journey. I would like to think when we finally cross that threshold and see what’s on the other side we take that first breath and get that “Wow” moment. It captures a haunting stillness of a coastline, that presents intersection between the end and the beginning. I would like to thinks its going to be something amazing to behold.
